In Nicaragua, you can find are a variety of waves to suit all skill levels. We will seek out the best waves on a daily basis from smaller, rolling waves for beginners to heavy barrels and overhead waves for advanced surfers.

Tours take place in both Northern and Central Nicaragua, where there are fewer crowds and bigger waves.

All Surf Life Tours are $215/night and 1:1 Coaching and Guiding packages are also available for an extra cost.

Melquing Chavez

My name is Melquing Chavéz, but people call me Melky. I was born in Aserradores, which is one of the most northern points of Nicaragua on the pacific side. I started surfing at 15 years old while working for a top-rated multinational surf retreat organization.

For 10+ years, I have been an ISA-certified surf coach and local guide, sharing Nicaragua’s exclusive surf breaks, the exquisite natural habit, and local flavor. As the founder of one of the few locally owned surf retreats, I can integrate clients more intimately with the community and provide access to unique experiences. Helping my clients find success in the water brings me personal joy.

Our Waves

Nicaragua has some of the most beautiful waves in the world, such as the Boom, The Island, Nahualapa, and many more accessible waves either by car or boat. There are a variety of waves to suit all skill levels.

We will seek out the best waves daily, from smaller, rolling waves for beginners to the heavy barrel and overhead waves for advanced surfers. From the beach to point to reef breaks, we have all types of styles of waves to maximize your experience.

The main season for pumping waves is in April – September. The dry season (Oct-March) can still have fun waves but is less consistent. Advanced surfers will most likely want to come in the wet season, while beginners can come anytime, and we’ll get you into some friendly waves.

Melky is by far one of the best surf coaches I’ve ever had. He knows how to push you while also ensuring you are having fun and laughing in between every wave. His knowledge of spots throughout Nicaragua is apparent and tremendously helpful as he guided me and my friend for a week in different conditions. He also made sure all of our needs were take care of from housing, food, transportation and entertainment. You name it, Melky can make it happen. I’m so fortunate to have connected with him and looking forward to planning another trip very soon!
